One of our favorites for 2023…
Hosta ‘Pineapple Upside-down Cake’
Hosta ‘Pineapple Upside-down Cake’ is certainly a unique hosta to add to your shade garden.
The foliage is wavy and emerges as a pure green color. After that, the center turns to gold and the leaves develop a narrow dark green margin.
The Hosta Pineapple Upside-down cake grows to 18 inches tall and approximately 3-4 feet wide.
Thrives best in zones 3-8, and grows well in half shade/shade
Do you like Hummingbirds?
A special treat is later in the summer when the lavender flowers emerge (nearly two feet tall scapes) to attract the hummingbirds.
These hosts go dormant in the fall and can be easily divided in either spring or fall or left alone.
